We Need YOU!!!!!!
1-16-23--Dear friends and neighbors,
Lawmakers, staff, and the public are back in Olympia in person for the first time in nearly three years. If we've learned anything over this time period it's that you – THE PUBLIC – and your input, interest, and involvement are integral to the legislative process. I don't think it's coincidence that some of the worst public policy legislation that I've seen in my time in the Legislature passed into law while the people were kept out of “the peoples' house.”
I will once again send out weekly updates during this 105-day legislative session. I will write columns for several local papers, do radio interviews, and we may even do another telephone town hall or ZOOM town hall. But there are several ways for you to be involved and stay informed:
You can sign up for our daily e-news clipping service, The Capitol Buzz, with articles of interest from media sources around the state.
You can visit our legislative news aggregator, The Ledger, to see the latest legislative news stories from around the state.
You can visit TVW to watch committees, floor debates, weekly legislative programs, and more.
You can visit the Washington State House Republican website, including our priorities page, and my website for the latest legislative news and actions.
You can visit my Soundcloud page to listen to my weekly, 3 minute radio podcast on The Capitol Report.
And finally, you can visit the Washington State Legislature website to find bills, committee reports and schedules, information about floor action and so much more. And of course, you can always call my office in Olympia at (360) 786-7844 or email me at [email protected]
There are many ways for you to be informed and stay involved in YOUR state government. As always, if you're going to make the trek to Olympia, please contact my office. We will do our best to make time for you and make your trip to the state Capitol one to remember!
Thank you for the honor of serving you in Olympia.
Sincerely, Joe Schmick
