More about Congressman Dave Reichert:
Congressman Dave Reichert, was first elected to our U.S. Congress in 2004 in Washington State’s 8th Congressional District, which now includes cities such as Auburn, Renton, Issaquah, Ellensburg and Wenatchee. He currently serves on the Committee on Ways and Means. The committee is the principal source of legislation concerning issues such as taxation, customs duties, and international trade.
Prior to his election to Congress, he served as the King County Sheriff. Under his leadership, a significant drop in violent crime occurred. He brought national recognition to the Sheriff’s Office as head of the Green River Task Force, solving the largest serial murder case in U.S. history.
He has established himself as a leading voice against out of control spending and domestic violence and is a strong supporter of the recently passed Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, our military and law enforcement and an advocate for family values. His awards include Sheriff of the Year by the National Sheriffs’ Association in 2004, two-time Medal of Valor Award recipient from King County, and Washington Policy’s Center’s Champion of Freedom Award. In addition, he has served as president of the Washington Sheriff’s Association and continues to serve on numerous advisory boards.
